D2L

D2L stands for Desire2Learn, which is an online learning management system (LMS) used by educational institutions to deliver courses and manage educational resources. It provides tools for course management, content delivery, assessment, and communication between students and instructors. The D2L Global Headquarters in Kitchener went through a complete transformation. Dfy Studio, Mighton Engineering, Edge Architects, and Salex SW collaborated to design a space that is both functional and chic.

Lighting fixtures were chosen to provide the right lighting and to enhance the design concepts for the space. It was important to stick to a strict budget while incorporating a lighting strategy that created the desired ambiance. The ModiFly by Ledalite and Signify 3-D printed luminaires were used throughout the office over workstations and seating areas. A variety of Alora and Kuzco Lighting fixtures were used in the front entrance, meeting rooms, kitchen areas, and lunch rooms. These fixtures were carefully selected as decorative accents to elevate the overall theme of elegance.
