After a recent move to a new headquarters in the Canadian tech-hub of Waterloo, Ontario, McAfee Inc. (the trusted global leader in cybersecurity software) was in need of state-of-the-art lighting which would reflect the brand’s commitment to innovation and its passion for creativity.

To complete this bright and colourful project, Salex collaborated closely with Britacan Design & Build Ltd. and Smith + Anderson to furnish the new headquarters with high-tech, functional fixtures.

Lumenwerx – known for next-generation luminaires featuring the latest in LED technology, optics, and thermal management – was ideal to illuminate the space. Throughout open-office spaces, LumenWerx POP Core (Square) was used prominently to provide powerful, yet polished lighting. These square fixtures were also supplemented with suspended POP Core (Round) fixtures, as well as streamlined VIA pendants, for an integrated yet still differentiated lighting design.

To provide further illumination, the creative office space was illuminated with Elite Lighting’s FPR1-LED / FPR2-LED cylinders, Liteline’s ATF7415-3538-WH LED track heads, as well as fixtures from SGI Lighting. Lastly, with a bell-shaped body for ambient light and sound control, Artemide’s classic Nur fixtures were selected to light the kitchen and communal areas. Lastly, McAfee used Legrand Wattstopper DLM lighting controls to meet ASHRAE 90.1 requirements.

Mirroring McAfee’s brand and culture, the final space employs a comprehensive and cutting-edge lighting solution that makes a design statement within the company’s high-tech and creative headquarters.
